Della & Doug Get Married: Sparkling Hills Resort, Vernon BC Wedding Photography

A few weeks ago I was asked by uber-talented Jessica Zais for a favor. Her clients were getting ready at the Sparkling Hills Resort in Vernon and then flying by helicopter to get married at the Summerhill Pyramid Winery in Kelowna. Sadly, Jessica is just not able to be in two places at once so that’s where I came in. I met up with her clients at the resort for some pre-wedding photos. I’ve never been to Sparkling Hills, it’s amazing. I’ve never seen so many crystals in my life. Della was so calm and Doug was in good spirits, getting ready across the hall from his beautiful bride-to-be. Thanks Jessica for asking me to help out. Levi: Kelowna Newborn & Family Photography

I loved everything about this session….the lighting was perfect, the family was too gorgeous for words and I got to finally use my new vintage baby carriage. You may remember this family from their maternity photos..you can check them out here. Well, once Levi was born, we thought it would be cool to go back to the same spot for some “after” shots. I’m so glad we did. I could easily have posted the entire session as favorites. The first picture is probably one of my favorite newborn shots to date.

Sonu Weds Roopa: Kelowna Wedding Photography

This past Saturday I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Sonu and Roopa. It was a perfect day for a wedding at the Delta Grand Hotel, on the patio. It was a small, intimate ceremony and the bride was so excited to be marrying her love. I promised to put a sneek peek of the images up for Roopa and Sonu to see. I haven’t even had a chance to go through all the images yet but these few caught my eye. There’s more to come

The “C” Family: Kelowna Family Photography

This awesome family won a session at a silent auction and knew exactly what they were looking for…an Urban family photo session. They are all heading off to Hawaii for some missionary training and wanted some photos done before they leave. They were so much fun…I just love the interaction between all of them…playful and loving. I was trying to pick only a few favorites for this post but it was too hard…so enjoy the photo overload

The “M” Family: Kelowna Family Photography

A few weeks ago I was invited up to the M family farm to get a few photos of everyone together before all the boys took off to different parts of Canada for school and work. When I got there I managed to get a few shots before the skies opened up and the rain came pelting down. I took a 30 minute break and when I came back, the sun was shining and everything was fresh and freshly washed. Their property is a photographer’s dream…they had everything from sour cherry orchard to old barns, old equipment and great fields of grass. I had a blast with them…their middle child is a bit of a comedian and kept everyone laughing. Here’s a few of my favorites

Alexis: Kelowna Newborn Photography

A few months ago I was contacted by Anne-Marie’s mother, who wanted to gift her daughter with a mini newborn photo session. I was so excited to meet little Alexis, I knew she was going to be gorgeous just like her parents and couldn’t wait to do another outdoor newborn session. It was perfect weather, the sun was just setting and she was sleeping soundly. Here’s a few of my favorites from our 30 minute session.

Jen: Summerland Family Photography

Last month I went down to Summerland to photograph Jen Sander and her family. Her parents were visiting from Ontario and she wanted to get some family photos done. I was pretty nervous, as I always am when asked to photograph another photographer and their family but the session was fun and went rather quickly. Her little guy Ashton is such a cutie. I couldn’t get him to crack a smile but at least he didn’t hide from the camera…must be used to it, having a photog mommy. I posted a sneak peek a while back but I finally got around to finishing the editing. Here’s some of my favorites. Thanks for the fun Jen!!

Savery & Brett: Osoyoos Wedding Photography

A few weeks ago I helped Simone out on yet another one of her fabulous weddings. Savery and Brett got married at the Walnut Beach Resort in Osoyoos, right on the beach. I loved all the cool locations we got to shoot at, Osoyoos is a beautiful little town! Thanks Simone, for having me along to assist you….I always have fun helping you out. Ryah: Kelowna Children & Family Photography

I can’t even begin to put into words what this amazing little angel has been through the past 7 months. Just before Christmas, Ryah’s little body was riddled with tumors. If Nanci hadn’t been persistent and followed through with her gut feeling, that something wasn’t right with her baby, Ryah wouldn’t be here today. The doctors all said she was fine and most parents would have accepted that but not Nanci. Her persistence saved her baby’s life. Since the beginning of December, Ryah has had to deal with countless pokes and prods, 6 or 7 rounds of chemo and a whole battery of tests that would bring grown men to their knees. Somehow though…she seemed to sail through everything thrown at her with unbelievable courage, strength and laughter and boundless energy. Early on, the doctors really didn’t think Ryah would survive…she had stage 4 cancer. I guess God has other plans for her though because today she is doing amazing…her tumors (the largest was the size of a basketball) are all pretty much gone and she turns 2 next week.

I’m waaaaaaay behind on blogging as these photos were taken when Nanci and Ryah were in town over May long weekend. It was sort of an impromptu photo session…more of a playdate than anything. Nanci really wanted some photos of her before her hair started to grow back and I was only too happy to oblige. The first image made both of us cry as soon as we saw it on the back of the camera and i’d be lying if I said I wasn’t all sniffly and teary-eyed right now.
