Elise & Daryl: Kelowna Wedding Photography

July 30 Elise and Daryl got married at Summerhill Winery. The lovely and talented Simone was my assistant yet again. She and I make a pretty fantastic team, if I do say so myself We started off at her sister’s place as she got ready. Melanie Feeny did a great job with Elise’s makeup and everyone seemed to be chilling out and having a few pre-wedding beverages, no nerves anywhere to be found.

The day was beautiful (if not a little hot) but they were both cool as a cucumber. They opted to do a “first look” and see each other before the ceremony. It was so beautiful…watching Daryl’s face as he was standing there waiting for his gorgeous bride-to-be come up behind him. Kelly & Brent are Married: Kelowna Wedding and Engagement Photography

I have known Kelly since we worked together at White Spot back in 1997. When she got engaged and asked if I would be her photographer I couldn’t wait for her day! I met Brent back in February when we met up to do their engagement session downtown. It was clear to me that they were so right for each other. I never got a chance to share their engagement photos so here’s a few favorites before I move on to the wedding.

Then came their wedding day, April 2. The forecast was for rain but we lucked out and it stayed dry. The day was beautiful. They got married at the historic and newly renovated Laurel Packinghouse. Kelly was probably the most calm and relaxed bride I’ve ever met. She was marrying her love and nothing could ruin her mood. Tacey was my 2nd shooter that day and we all had a blast, there were lots of laughs and silliness near the end of our time together. Instead of photos, take a few minutes to watch the slideshow. Kelly chose the song “At Last” by Etta James. It’s the song she walked up the aisle to and fit them perfectly.

Fawn & Mike~Married: Kelowna Wedding Photography

September 25, 2010…that’s the day Fawn & Mike tied the knot at Ellison Heritage School hall. The theme of their wedding was Apples and Fawn outdid herself with all the little details…they were everywhere. Apples, antique toys, more apples, old popcorn maker, photos of wedding guests and family were strung all throughout the hall. They even had a fun photobooth set up for their guests. Instead of flower girls dropping rose petals, they let all their nephews and niece run through the isles giving out apples to the guests before the bridal party walked down. It was so cute.

They were both so relaxed all day, their wedding party was a blast and the weather was perfect. I couldn’t have asked for a more fun group of people to hang out with all day. I want to thank Willow Lloyd for coming along to help shoot the shennanigans that were going on while we were off doing photos with the wedding party. Simone was my trusty sidekick yet again. The first bunch of photos of the guys getting ready are her handiwork. I LOVE the photobooth shots…so much fun. I put off blogging this wedding for months because I was overwhelmed trying to choose my favorites for the blog post. I have SOOO many favorites that I didn’t know how to choose so I kept putting it off and putting it off. Today is the day I forced myself to finally decide. I know there’s a ton of photos here…I just couldn’t help it. Enjoy..and Thanks to Fawn & Mike for having me be a part of their day.

Todd & Nicole–Married: Summerland & Penticton Wedding Photography

Todd and Nicole are some of the sweetest people I’ve had the privilege of working with. Their day was such a happy one, as you can tell from the huge smile on their faces for most of the photos. The ceremony was at the Summerland Ornamental Gardens, which is a beautiful spot to get married with tons of great little spots for photos and the lake across the street. I love shooting in Penticton, the landscape is a little different than Kelowna…more arid and desert like. Some of the best spots are right on the side of the highway We finished up the day with a reception at the Penticton Ramada. I’m so thankful to have been a part of Todd and Nicole’s day….they truly made me feel like a part of the family. I have so many favorite photos from their day. Big thanks to Simone for being my trusty sidekick yet again!

Chris & Allie-Engaged: Kelowna Engagement Photography

A few weeks ago Chris and Allie got engaged. Chris works at my Chiropractor’s office and I was thrilled when I found out I would get the chance to be their wedding photographer. We set out to do a short 1 hour e-session but ended up having so much fun that 1 hour turned into 3 and one location turned into many I love these 2…they are amazingly photogenic and can’t wait for their wedding next weekend. Instead of posting a bunch of photos…I thought I’d give a slideshow a shot. Hopefully it’s not too slow to load. Enjoy the show

Della & Doug Get Married: Sparkling Hills Resort, Vernon BC Wedding Photography

A few weeks ago I was asked by uber-talented Jessica Zais for a favor. Her clients were getting ready at the Sparkling Hills Resort in Vernon and then flying by helicopter to get married at the Summerhill Pyramid Winery in Kelowna. Sadly, Jessica is just not able to be in two places at once so that’s where I came in. I met up with her clients at the resort for some pre-wedding photos. I’ve never been to Sparkling Hills, it’s amazing. I’ve never seen so many crystals in my life. Della was so calm and Doug was in good spirits, getting ready across the hall from his beautiful bride-to-be. Thanks Jessica for asking me to help out. Sonu Weds Roopa: Kelowna Wedding Photography

This past Saturday I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Sonu and Roopa. It was a perfect day for a wedding at the Delta Grand Hotel, on the patio. It was a small, intimate ceremony and the bride was so excited to be marrying her love. I promised to put a sneek peek of the images up for Roopa and Sonu to see. Savery & Brett: Osoyoos Wedding Photography

Gurpal & Caroline~East Indian Wedding: Penticton Wedding Photography

Last Saturday I was invited to Penticton to help Jenifer Sander out with Gurpal and Caroline’s wedding. The day was rainy and wet but miraculously every time we’d step outside to do outdoor photos the rain would stop. I’ve never been to an East Indian wedding before so I really had no idea what to expect. Everyone was so friendly and kind and the colors were beautiful. Gurpal and Caroline were so calm and relaxed, open to doing anything Jen asked them, including rock climbing I truly enjoyed the day and had a blast working with Jen. I have alot of favorites but I’ve narrowed it down to just a few. Check out Jen’s blog for more images.

In the afternoon Carolyn and Gurpal changed into their white wedding outfits and braved the rain for more beautiful photos. I bet you didn’t even recognize the groom right??!!

Jay & Kara Got Married: Kelowna Wedding Photography

Last Saturday I got to spend the day with Jay and Kara as they said their “I Do’s”. It was a rainy day but no way was the rain going to put a damper on anyone’s day. The wedding was held in Jay & Kara’s back yard which was transformed into a beautiful wonderland with twinkling lights and lime green Japanese lanterns. They opted to see each other before the wedding so we met up at Guisachan Gardens and under a canopy of trees to shield us from the falling rain, Jay awaited in anticipation for his bride-to-be. It was such an amazing moment to witness…there were tears, laughter and lots of hugs and kisses. After some photos at Guisachan with the best man and maid of honor (Jay’s son and Kara’s daughter), Jay, Kara and I headed over to Quail’s Gate Winery for some more photos. Lucky for us, the skies cleared up and the rain stopped for us. It’s so obvious that these two adore each other. Jay and Kara, I wish you both a lifetime of happiness.

Yes, her eyes really are that amazing color!
