My New Neice: Kelowna Newborn & Family Photography

My new neice, Mikaela, was born in November. I’m feeling a little like a bad auntie for taking so long to get these pictures up but I guess better late than never. We did the belly photos back in October before it got too cold. It was fun chasing my other little cutie-pie neice Annika around with my camera. These are some of my favorites.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I am a terrible blogger. I really did have some good intentions but really, what was i thinking…the 365 day thing would have never worked, I can’t stick to anything and it’s time consuming being a daily blogger….too much commitment for me. I will, however, definately try my best to be a bi-weekly or weekly blogger. That seems to be a more reasonable type of new year’s resolution. I do have pictures from ALMOST every day that I will someday maybe post but not today. Today I am going to post pictures of my little Kaelyn. I went downtown with Sonia and her family to do some shooting for fun and I had to bribe Kaelyn with the promise of Ice Cream if she would be my model for the day. She did pretty good, it was cold out. Here’s some of my favorites.

Days 7, 8 & 9

I’m finally almost caught up and already I’m getting bored. It appears that I’m going to have to get a little creative or we’ll end up with ALOT of similar photos on here and that just won’t do. Anyways, we’ve had ALOT of snow lately. Our yard probably has about 16 inches. I had to shovel a path to the back shed so Braedyn could go and get her little snow shovel because the girls wanted to help me shovel the driveway one snowy evening earlier this week. Some of the snow has since melted but even with the melt, you can see how much we had. Now, all the remaining snow is more like ice. Not impressive and not fun to drive on. I took this picture of Kaelyn in the yard because I wanted to use her as a little measuring stick. Unfortunately this picture doesn’t really do a good job of showing just how much snow we had.

This next photo is typical Braedyn. Always on Webkinz world or on Family.com or something.

And lastly, yesterday’s photo. Kaelyn was having a bath and she called me over to show me something. I get there and she’s got a bubble goatee and is saying “Ho Ho Ho…I’m Santa Clause”. She’s such a goofy kid.

I have to catch up so here’s some more pics from the past few days. My goal is 1 per day but obviously I can’t just take ONE picture..so here’s a few. This is my kitchen window. Gross right?! Time to break out the Windex I think.

This is a sure sign that my house is neglected...can you see the fingerprint drawings on the kitchen window? Sad, I know. Anybody want to come clean my house?

The girls were fighting over camera time for a change…and they were keeping track of who got more pictures taken. That’s a first!

Welcome to my new blog!

Yay…it’s a new year and a new blog. I’ve been meaning to do this for months but anyone that knows me knows that I’m the HUGEST procrastinator so it’s no real surprise that it only got done now..and if it weren’t for the new year, it might have taken even longer. My goal for this year is to take more photos of my own kids. I have thousands of pictures of everyone else’s family on my computers but not too many of my own. So…even though I’m a few days late starting, I’m going to give the 365 thing an honest try. That means I have to take a photo every single day for 365 days and I’m even going to try and blog that picture every day. We’ll see how that goes! I’ve been taking pics for the past few days, they’re nothing spectacular, just every-day, around-the-house stuff. My mother-in-law should be happy, now she will get more regular updates on what’s happening out here.

So, being the procrastinator that I am, I didn’t start taking pictures till January 4. So here we go…

This is what Kaelyn's hair looks like every single morning. Only on one side though, the other side is nice and straight. Crazy!
